Day 24: Bilbo’s Wall of Love
Day 24
After some rough days, today has been another good day. It involved a trip to Oxford for round four of chemo.

We’ve agreed to be part of some research and trials. This is a computer test, Bilbo was brilliant.
It also involved a chat with the physio and some car racing, more computer tests with the research nurse, a chat with our social worker and of course the doctors.

Racing cars with the physio team, Bilbo is doing really well physically so far.
Bilbo was blooming awesome…took his anti sickness NO BOTHER! Check up with the doctor like a CHAMP. And the dressing change…well there was some screaming and shouting. Nanny and Grandad could hear him down the corridor. But he was handling it differently he was telling Natalie (our WONDERFUL nurse today) to “just get on with it”
There’s been a shift…he is getting that all this is a means to an end and if he understands what is happening and why then he accepts it. Sometimes it is with a few tears but the shift even in a week for a 5 year old little boy is just phenomenal. It breaks my heart to see him suffer but today my heart was bursting with pride at just how far he has come in 4 weeks.
I’m gonna be honest I don’t know if there are many adults who’d be as brave as him, I’m not sure I would be.
And our journey home from Oxford was full of chat, cheekiness and a request to stop at McDonalds for a happy meal.
