#DignityPacks are on their way…

#dignitypacks are on their way, Thank You for all your donations.
#DignityPacks
The #dignitypacks are on their way. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!! I’ve been bowled over by the tremendous support I’ve received for our latest campaign. Yesterday I was able to drop 76 bags off to a partner group, along with spares we had to help them make up their own boxes. If you’d like to know more about the #DignityPacks you can read all about it We All Love A Shower – The Dignity Pack Project.
The team over at Friends of Refugees for Bedfordshire were also doing a clothing sort so I was able to drop off some of the clothing donations I’ve received from you all over the last few weeks too.
Where has your money been spent?
I wanted to take a moment to let all my supporters know where their funds have been spent, where the remaining money will be spent and what I will be doing with some of the funds I’ve raised personally and have shared as offline donations on my page.
Since April 2018 I’ve raised almost £5000 – my original target was a mere £1000 and we smashed that a long time ago and we’re now at £4801.
JUST £199 TO GO!
I spent £2936 during my time on Lesvos and all the funds are accounted for here.
I’ve raised £820 for the #dignitypacks and a further £1045 for other projects. To save a little time and energy on writing up funding blogs I’ve created a google doc I will share where money is coming in and where it is going. I will also screen shot receipts on to the tabs.
#DignityPack Spend
For full transparency from the £820 for the #dignitypacks we’ve spent a total £696.72 the majority of this money has topped up the items in the pack to make up the full 76 bags. It also covered the cost of 160 pairs of knickers and £50 to cover the cost of shipping. (each banana box costs £5 to ship from here to Athens)
Due to the number of items dropped at the house over the last week we did have extras. I was able to drop them to Friends of Refugees for Bedfordshire when I dropped our complete boxes.
What happens next?

The cars are packed and ready.
The team from Chorleywood4refugees are co-ordinating all the boxes. They’ve already sent 400 packs to Lesvos and our boxes will form part of the next delivery. Each banana box costs £5 to send from here to Athens and they’ve negotiated a deal to get the items on from Athens to Lesvos.
This is another reason why working as a team and collaborating between different groups is the best possible way we can support refugees from afar.

All the #love4lesvos supporters. Team work, makes the dream work! Collaboration in Action
What am I doing next?
#dignitypacks are on their way, I dropped off a lot of the clothing donations you’ve been passing along to me – THANK YOU! And I will be keeping an eye on dates for Friends of Refugees for Bedfordshire next sort and will let you know more details about how I will be getting involved.
I’m taking a little breather for the rest of August, we’re taking a vacation and Bilbo is starting school. We will then be ready to kick back into action mid September. WATCH THIS SPACE!
